What is MetLife + Aura Identity & Fraud Protection (i.e., Aura)?

MetLife + Aura Identity & Fraud Protection (i.e., Aura) is a digital security app that helps protect your and your family’s identities, finances, important documents, and devices from cybercriminals who can commit fraud or cause harm when they have unauthorized access.

Add your information–like personal data, passwords, and financial account information–and Aura will alert you if it’s at risk. You can securely store your sensitive legal, estate planning, medical, and other important documents with military-grade encryption in Aura’s Digital Vault. Plus, share documents in your Vault with loved ones and access them from anywhere.

Why is my MetLife Legal Plan integrated with MetLife + Aura Identity & Fraud Protection?

MetLife Legal Plans and MetLife + Aura Identity & Fraud Protection products have been integrated to help employees who are enrolled in both products get the most out of their benefits.

Examples of how the connected MetLife Legal Plans and MetLife + Aura Identity & Fraud Protection products can help include:

  • Individuals who complete their digital estate plan will be prompted to store their documents securely in the Aura Digital Vault.
  • When Aura detects a new mortgage loan inquiry on an employee’s credit report, it will remind an individual that they may have access to real estate attorney services if they are enrolled in the Legal Plan.
  • When Aura detects delinquent accounts on a credit file, it can remind individuals that they may have access to debt collection or bankruptcy attorney services if they are enrolled in the Legal Plan.

Why am I being prompted to add my legal documents to Aura Vault?

You are seeing a prompt to safeguard your documents in Aura Vault because your employer offers MetLife+Aura Identity and Fraud protection as a voluntary benefit. If you are enrolled in Identity and Fraud Protection, you can link your account to the Legal Plans portal for seamless, secure storage of important documents.

I did not enroll in Aura Identity and Fraud Protection. Can I still use Vault?

No, Vault is only available if you are enrolled MetLife + Aura Identity and Fraud Protection. If you enroll in the future, the Vault feature will be unlocked in your Legal Plans portal. In the meantime, you can always access a digital copy of your Digital Estate Plan and other documents in your Legal Plans portal.

Why aren't my Aura credentials working?

Have you successfully logged in to Aura before?

If so, enter your existing Aura username and password to link your account to MetLife Legal Plans. You may use the “Forgot Password” option if you need to reset your Aura credentials.

If not, try using the “Activate my account” option. This will prompt you to verify your personal information (name, birthday, and last four digits of SSN) and then allow you to create your Aura username and password.

What is Personal Identifiable Information (PII)?

Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is any representation of information that permits the identity of an individual to whom the information applies to be reasonably inferred by either direct or indirect means, e.g., (name, birthday, and last four digits of SSN).

Why am I seeing an error that my information cannot be verified?

If you’ve already activated your Aura account, please use the Sign In option to link your credentials. The Personal Identifiable Information (PII) Verification option will only work for new users who are accessing their Aura account for the first time.
